ELVAX 3130

ELVAX™ 3130 by Dow is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer grade, filled with 12%wt vinyl acetate comonomer content.

It contains butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) antioxidant as a thermal stabilizer.

It exhibits low-temperature heat sealing, flex crack resistance, excellent clarity, cling, impact- and puncture resistance.

Designed for cast and blown film extrusion method technique.

ELVAX™ 3130 is recommended for sealants, flexible packaging applications and used in co-extruded films.

Complies with Food and Drug Administration Regulation 21 CFR 177.1350(a)(1).

Application

This resin is designed to provide a low temperature heat seal to itself or many othermaterials commonly used in flexible packaging applications.

The melt properties ofthis resin allow it to be processed on blown film equipment over a wide range offilm thickness and blow-up ratios.

It can also be co-extruded with a variety of otherpolymers.This resin is typically used as low temperature seal layer in co-extrudedfilms.

Features

ELVAX can be used in conventional extrusion equipment designed to processpolyethylene resins.

However,corrosion-protected barrels,screws,adapters,anddies are recommended,since,at sustained melt temperatures above 455°F (235°C),ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)resins may thermally degrade and release corrosive by-products.
